Kneeling Mermaid Pose

Mermaid pose and all its variants like this kneeling variation (pictured) is one of my favorite poses to practice when I want to open up my chest and stretch out my quads.  As it requires some flexibility in the spine, this pose is a great one to practice to improve mobility in that area.  Holding this pose engages the abs so its really wonderful to help strengthen the core.  Avoid practicing this posture if you have knee, back or neck problems.
